Dave began his piping career under the tutelage of Douglas Will of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, when he was 11 years of age. Dave after a year of instruction joined his first pipe band the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada Cadets, where he was able to learn the aspects of being in and playing with a group of bagpipers. After many years of playing, he joined the Reserve portion of the Queens Own and continued to play with the band for 14 years. During this time Dave played with the Henderson Highlanders Competition Pipe band and also joined the Winnipeg Police Service Pipe Band. Dave began to pipe for Highland Dancers and especially the Ena Sutton Highland Dancers, this group kept him very busy, until moving to Florida in 1997.

Dave joined the Police Pipe and Drum Corps of Florida in 1998, and was instrumental in forming the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Pipes and Drums in 1999. During Dave's time with the Police Pipe and Drum Corps, he became a Corporal in the band, the Bandmaster(manager), and now the Current Pipe Major in charge of all aspects of the band. Because of Dave's vast knowledge he can walk into a room develop a plan for entry and exit and make a difficult issue look easy.

Dave's Piping career has has taken him far and wide, Dave started piping for the Ena Sutton Highland Dancers, as well as the Highland Dancers at the Scottish Pavillion every August during Winnipeg's Famous festival Folklorama. Dave travelled across Canada and played at many a grey cup festival ( Canadian Football Championship) as well as many places in the United States, Ireland, and Peru while on tour with the Ena Sutton Highland Dancers. Dave even filled in at the Orlando Highland Games once when the piper had a medical emergency and could not continue.

In 2018 Dave made contact with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers of Scotland who would be performing in Coral Springs, Florida, and was able to have the band join in with them for two numbers during their performance.

Dave is always looking for new and exciting ways the band can perform, play a tune with a little twist, or future travel.

Dave will compliment your event and bring it to the level of Wow, or add just the right touch for that final send off of a loved one. From Weddings, to Birthday Party's, from Concert Halls to Cruise Ships or even on an Airplane at 37000 feet nothing is too far fetched when you want to get the party started.
